We understand concerns about damage, incomplete installations, inconsistent results, or subpar craftsmanship. This warranty defines our standard of workmanship and sets clear expectations to prevent surprises and ensure fair handling of any issues.
What We Cover
BCI warrants that all installation, programming, and service work will be performed in a professional, workmanlike manner consistent with industry standards (e.g., CEDIA guidelines where applicable).
- Coverage Period: 1 year from the date of project completion (or final service appointment).
- What This Includes: Quality, organization, cleanliness, and longevity of our workmanship. We aim for lifelong durability but provide this 1-year period to address any overlooked or ongoing workmanship concerns.
- Examples of Covered Issues (not exhaustive):
- Failure to connect a pre-existing cable that was noted in the scope of work, mentioned during the pre-work walkthrough, or reasonably noticeable during installation—we will return at no charge to connect it and verify proper function.
- Workmanship below satisfactory levels, such as leaving the space in disarray or equipment/programming disorganized and hard to understand. We commit to leaving every space as good as or better than we found it.
- Additional Coverage: Labor for warranty exchanges on new equipment, accessories, or programming purchased through BCI (while under the original installation warranty and manufacturer warranty). We will return to perform the swap if it meets manufacturer claim requirements.
What We Do Not Cover
This warranty does not apply to:
- Third-party hardware, software, or services not purchased through BCI (refer to the original manufacturer's warranty).
- Damage that is planned, reasonably expected, or client-disclosed during installation (e.g., cracking tile from standard drilling, damage to lathe/plaster walls/ceilings, issues from pre-existing structural vulnerabilities, age-related failures, or items left exposed/vulnerable in the work area).
- These examples are not all-inclusive and do not relieve BCI of responsibility for negligence or failure to meet industry workmanship standards.
- Manufacturer defects in equipment (covered by the equipment supplier).
- Issues outside the original scope of work (quote, proposal, invoice, or documented agreement).
- Pre-existing conditions, misuse, abuse, neglect, unauthorized modifications, normal wear and tear, or damage from environmental factors, power surges, or "acts of God."
When We Won't Charge for Follow-Up
We provide no-charge service within the 1-year period if:
- The issue is verifiable via photos, in-person inspection, or similar means and relates to covered workmanship.
- A BCI-supplied product under warranty requires exchange (meeting manufacturer requirements), and we perform the swap.
- The claim is reasonable to an average person and ties directly to the original scope of work.
When We Will Charge
We reserve the right to charge for follow-up service if:
- There is any outstanding balance on the original project or prior/subsequent services—full payment is required for warranty eligibility.
- The issue was not included in the original scope of work, quote, proposal, invoice, or other BCI documentation (even if addressed in good faith during the job).
- The claim falls under exclusions above.
Definitions
- Workmanship: The physical and technical work performed by BCI technicians to achieve the agreed-upon result. This includes (but is not limited to) anchoring/mounting items, manipulating/adding/relocating equipment, wiring, structures, programming, and all related tasks during a scheduled appointment.
How to Make a Claim
Contact us promptly (within 30 days of discovering the issue) via phone, email, or our website with a description, photos if possible, and proof of service. We'll inspect and resolve covered issues quickly—priority for membership clients.
Limitation of Liability and Exclusive Remedy
BCI's sole obligation under this warranty is to repair or re-perform the defective workmanship at no charge (or, in rare cases, provide a refund or credit proportional to the original service cost). This is your exclusive remedy.
BCI shall not be liable for any incidental, consequential, indirect, special, or punitive damages (including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, business interruption, or relocation costs), even if advised of the possibility.
Disclaimer of Implied Warranties
This limited warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. No other warranties, whether oral or written, are made by BCI or its representatives.
Transferability
This warranty is transferable to a new owner if the system remains unaltered, proof of original installation is provided, and written notice of transfer is given to BCI within 30 days of the change in ownership.
Governing Law
This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
We're committed to your satisfaction and the highest standards—thank you for choosing BCI!
